Thanks everyone for coming out to our Giving Thanks dinner on November 22nd.
For those who did not come to our event last week, here’s what happened. Thanks to the great cabinet member’s of VSA who put their efforts into preparing this special dinner for our fellow VSA members. When everything was settled and the food was ready to be served at around 7:10pm was when everyone started to arrive to take their seats. Although not everyone had a chance to pre purchase their giving thanks dinner ticket for this event, they were still able to attend the event by purchasing at the door.
When everyone came, there was an icebreaker involving the use of M&Ms. Jennifer Vu, our external vice president gave each person a different M&M. Depending on the color that everyone received, they had to talk about a specific topic. It was very interesting getting to hear what each person had to say. Someone with a red M&M said that they liked the color of the eyes of the opposite gender. Hmmm very interesting!
Afterwards each table was dismissed to receive their food individually. The different variety of food at the event included turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, stuffing, corn bread, pumpkin pie and last but not least CAKE! (Happy Birthday president Mike
. We also had soda and apple cider for everyone to drink.
As the dinner was about to wrap up; most people left and some decided to stay back to play board games. Many people were interested in a game of Taboo at one of the tables!
Besides the food and the games, there was also a Turkey posted on the wall for people to tape their feather with thankful wishes written on them. By the end of the event that Turkey was fully feathered with many thank you notes. It was great knowing that everyone had something to be thankful about.
Thank you everyone that came out to our event last week. We hope you all had fun and come back to VSA for more events next year. We will have more events coming up in the winter for our fellow member’s to enjoy. We hope to see you again, so stay tuned until next time!
